Senator Angara's New Year's Day Message

2009 was indeed a year of challenges - we bore the brunt of the financial crisis, our economy teetered near recession, and we were hit by natural disasters that caused painful loss of life and livelihood. But the Filipino proved to be resilient amidst these challenges.

2010 should be known as the year of starting over, the year that will mark a new beginning for the Philippines. As we approach the coming year, let us keep in mind the lessons learned from 2009, and heed the wisdom gained from this year: that of pursuing a green and sustainable growth and investing on our human capital.

Let us face 2010 with high hopes and continue to persevere for a better Philippines.
