ROXAS CONDEMNS MURDER OF NAPM VOLUNTEER IN PAMPANGA

Liberal Party President Senator Mar Roxas today condemned the gruesome murder of Marciliano "Bong" Dizon Jr., a volunteer of the Noynoy Aquino for President Movement (NAPM) in Pampanga.

"Isa si Bong sa mga masigasig na mag-organize ng mga puwersa ng reporma sa mismong balwarte ng administrasyon. Pinupuri natin ang kagitingan niya, at kinokondena natin ang mga duwag na pumaslang sa kanya (Bong is one of the diligent organizers of the forces of reform inside the administration's bailiwick itself. We look up to his courage, and look down on the cowards who killed him)," he said.

"Sa kung sino man ang pumaslang kay Bong, ito ang mensahe ko sa inyo: hinding-hindi ninyo mapapatay ang pangarap ng lahat ng Pilipino para sa tunay na pagbabago (To those who killed Bong, this is my message to you: you will never, never be able to kill the dream of all Filipinos for real, transformative change)," he stressed.

Roxas, running-mate of Senator Noynoy Aquino, challenged the government to swiftly bring the murderers to justice and to escalate its efforts to eliminate electoral violence.

On Wednesday, Dizon was attending the wake of a colleague in Mexico, Pampanga, when two gunmen wearing bonnets and helmets shot him five times in the head, chest and shoulder. Dizon was killed days before a scheduled event of all groups supporting Aquino in Pampanga.
