Villar gives away P3-M scholarship in Wowowee

Sen. Manny Villar yesterday again made the dreams of more than 40 children come true by giving them scholarships on ABS-CBN's noontime show "Wowowee" on the occasion of host Willie Revillame's birthday.

The recipients of the scholarships are children of scavengers and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who encountered misfortunes abroad.

They were part of the game "Tic-Tac-Toe Win" who unfortunately wasn't able to get the jackpot prize of P1 million and a house and lot.

Earlier, Villar gave away houses and lots to six OFWs in response to Revillame's request in the noontime show.

He then requested Villar for a sum of P3 million to cover the children's tuition and enable them to return to school.

Villar agreed to the request of Revillame.

Villar was accompanied by his wife Rep. Cynthia Villar, daughter Camille and sons Mark and Paolo.

The children, elated by the scholarship, expressed gratitude to Villar.

Earlier, the recipients of the houses and lots from Villar were Sarah Felecio of Negros Occidental, Marnelli Recabar of Iloilo, Rosemarie Jaca of Romblon, Judith Vicente representing Hazel Vicente also of Romblon, Jennifer Sonbise representing Joanne Sonbise of Parañaque and Jolinald Chan representing Jenny Chan of Manila.

They were given fully furnished two-story, two-bedroom townhouses, valued at P1.2 million each and located at the Villar-owned subdivisions Camella Seville in Caloocan City and Camelle Lessandra in Molino, Bacoor, Cavite. The six new homeowners were contestants of the show's "Willie of Fortune," a special segment dedicated to migrant workers.
