San Carlos holds all-out rally for Aquino

A massive turnout of supporters greeted leading presidential candidate Benigno S. "Noynoy" Aquino III at the Liberal Party proclamation rally in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Aquino and running mate Sen. Mar Roxas were mobbed by an enormous crowd at the San Carlos plaza. People clad in yellow shirts and carrying "Noynoy for President" banners packed the plaza. Some had to step onstage to avoid getting crushed by the crowd, while others stayed outside to hear Aquino speak.

Pleased by the crowd, Aquino joked: "Narinig n'yo na ba yung kalaban ko.

Aquino in his speech stressed the need to bring about a clean and compassionate government to put an end to corruption, which has diverted government funds that could have been used on education and healthcare.

Aquino has been campaigning on a platform of good governance and freedom from the culture of corruption, the foremost cause of impunity and poverty in the country.
