Aquino takes La Union by Storm

Residents of Bauang, La Union braved the stifling heat on Saturday to rally in support of leading presidential candidate Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino.

Aquino visited La Union to lead the Liberal Party (LP) motorcade there. A massive crowd welcomed Aquino and LP senatorial candidates Sonia Rocco, Neric Acosta, and Franklin Drilon.

Despite the heat, the supporters eagerly waved yellow banners and chanted, "Noynoy! Noynoy!" People flashed the Laban sign when Aquino passed by to show their solidarity with the LP vision of putting an end to corruption, the foremost cost of injustice and poverty in the county.

Tito Oros III, the LP candidate for governor in the province, said Aquino had the people's support because they believe he can can bring change in the government. La Union is a province of more than 400,000 registered voters.

"Gusto natin ng pagbabago, kaya gusto natin ng tuwid na presidente," Oros said. "Ang buong La Union ay para kay Noy."

Aquino thanked the people for their overwhelming support, and vowed to bring about a clean and compassionate government that will dedicate the government's resources to services for the poor such as housing, health care, and education.
