AQUINO, ROXAS CONFIDENT OF A 'VOTE FOR CHANGE'

A week before the elections, Liberal Party standard-bearer Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and his runningmate Senator Mar Roxas firmed up their commitment to pursue the people's campaign for genuine change and reform.

While consistently leading the race as shown in recent surveys, Aquino and Roxas will not lower their guard down against forces that wish to maintain the status quo of corrupt leadership and inept governance.

There is no poverty if there is no corruption. I laud you for taking the straight path and rejecting the one that is crooked)," Aquino told supporters on "Yellow Sunday."

This is what we've all been waiting for. Noynoy and I trust that the people will not let their sacred right to choose their rightful leaders be trampled upon)," Roxas stressed.

On "Yellow Sunday," Aquino and Roxas joined throngs of supporters and volunteers who gathered at the People Power Monument in EDSA to show their support for the LP tandem despite the intense, expensive yet desperate black propaganda campaign hurled against them by those desperate to grab the highest posts of the land.

Supporters and volunteers also demonstrated today that Aquino and Roxas are their only tandem, and not others as pushed by certain politicians. He has been with me at the start of the People's Campaign, when we chose the straight path)," Aquino said of Roxas.

Artists like Ryan Cayabyab, Mae Paner a.k.a. "Juana Change," Hale, Moonstar 88, Itchyworms, and Kamikazee held a free concert from 4 to 10 pm at the monument. Prior to this, events were held at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City, including an on-the-street painting exhibition themed "Araw na Dilaw, Pagbabago ang Sigaw!," and a 2.5-kilometer run of around 10,000 runners clad in yellow from Araneta Center to the People Power Monument.

Ito ang tanging daan tungo sa kasagahan, kapayapaan at pag-asa (You are our strength. Together, we will continue the crusade to bring our country back on the straight path. This is the only way to prosperity, peace and hope)," Roxas said.
