and sensitive in wake of hostage crisis"

"The advent of technology and the internet has made it possible for anyone to immediately make known his or her views, activities, or 'status' practically to the whole world through social networking sites.

"In the wake of the photos circulating on Facebook showing people, including a group of policemen, posing for 'photo-ops' in front of the hijacked bus involved in Monday's hostage carnage, I appeal for self-restraint, ethical use and sensitivity among our fellow Filipino netizens. Such acts only tend to compound the already tense situation following the tragic incident.

"The internet is a powerful tool, but it can be just as dangerous if used irresponsibly."
