ON THE APPOINTMENT OF SIXTO BRILLANTES AS COMELEC CHAIR

The decision has been made. The appointment papers were already signed.

Whether we like it or not, Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes has won the trust and confidence of the President.

What he needs now are the tools and resources to ensure the automation of the 2013 elections.

He needs all the power and authority to organize and deodorize the election agency the way he wants and sees it. If he has some reform ideas, Congress is willing to listen.

For who can accomplish such feat but only someone who was practically an 'insider' who wants to leave a legacy of clean and honest polls before he sails into the sunset.

Commissioner Brillantes deserves all the break to be able to do his job.
