OF SEC. ANGELO REYES

We sympathize with the family of former Secretary Angelo Reyes in their hour of pain and loss. The unraveling of the corruption charges existing within the higher echelons of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) over the last several years has now gone beyond accusations, denials, and counter-accusations, causing one of the accused to take his own life. His untimely death has brought to stark focus the need for us to get to the bottom of the continuing investigation. We should not lose sight of our objective, which is to institute lasting reforms in the AFP and bring to justice those found guilty.
