Trillanes graces 15th Magayon Festival

Senator Antonio "Sonny" F. Trillanes IV visits his hometown in Albay, Bicol on Friday to grace the start of the month-long 15th Magayon Festival and hold consultations with local officials and his constituents.

This is the first visit of Trillanes to Bicolandia since his release from detention last December, where he will speak at the annual cultural celebration and lead the convention of the Samahang Magdalo in Legazpi City.

"It is important to celebrate and commemorate this kind of tradition because it strengthens and unites us - as Bicolanos and as Filipinos," Trillanes said.

Aside from the Magayon Festival, Trillanes heads the gathering of the Samahang Magdalo also in Legazpi City, which will be attended by at least 15 chapters from the Bicol region.

"Holding public office is not a one-man show. Hence, it has been my personal policy to pursue participative and consultative leadership by maintaining open communication channels to our constituents," Trillanes said.

Trillanes will also meet with Albay Governor Joey Salceda, local officials, members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan and Church leaders to discuss local concerns and identify solutions to forward the welfare of the people in Bicol.
