SEN. BONGBONG MARCOS SENDS HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT
FOR DAVAO FLASH FLOOD VICTIMS

In response to the unexpected flooding that confronted some barangays in Davao City, Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., sent relief goods like food and medicines for the victims of the flash floods triggered by heavy rains in Southern Mindanao.

"Allow me to express my sincerest words of sympathy to you and the people of Davao City especially those barangays that suffered losses and damage wrought by the recent flash floods. On behalf of my staff and my family, allow us to offer our prayers to all the suffering victims so that they may safely return to thier normal lives at the shortest possible time," Marcos said in his letter to acting Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Monday . Marcos shipped to Davao City boxes of assorted medicines and canned goods as his own way of providing humanitarian assistance to the affected families of the June 29 flash floods that swept through Davao City's Talomo district.

"It always gives me undue anguish to see my fellowmen suffer from this devastation that claimed lives, loss of agriculture crops, means of livelihood and damage to property," Marcos added.

In previous calamities like the mudslides that hit some barangays in Tacloban City in Leyte province, Sen. Marcos personally went to the city to distribute relief goods, together with Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, to the families who were adversely affected by the flooding and landslides that hit the city last March 2011.
