on Senator Zubiri's resignation

In the present fevered political atmosphere of the Philippines, there is one Senator who has just given us an example of statesmanship, willing to sacrifice official title and position to allow for the truth to be made known to the public without doubt being cast upon him as using his position to obstruct justice.

His eagerness for the perpetrators of the cheating that is now being exposed by numerous witnesses to be identified is a strong indication of his innocence. A man's sense of personal honor is his only treasure.

The willingness to offer it to the people and to entrust his fate to them and their judgment, is a sign of true courage and will surely be rewarded by a reciprocal trust being bestowed in him in his future endeavors, whether it be in or outside politics. I salute Senator Migs Zubiri for his courageous decision and wish him well.
