On the Killing of Nixon Kua

I extend my sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Nixon Kua, former head of the Philippine Tourism Authority, former Philippine Star reporter and Pilipino Star Ngayon columnist, on his untimely demise.

Kua's death in the hands of criminals underscores the need for authorities to prevent and control crime with even greater resolve. We must uphold the rule of law and serve stern notice to all criminal elements that the law will catch up with them sooner or later.

I urge the Philippine National Police to spare no effort to immediately bring the killers of Kua to justice.
