Press Release October 9, 2012 Sen Pia: SC TRO opens window to revisit, amend Cybercrime Law The temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the Supreme Court on RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012) opens a window of opportunity for Congress to revisit the law and work for the amendment and/or repeal of its questionable provisions. These efforts should go hand-in-hand with deliberations on a related matter, the decriminalization of libel. Several bills have already been filed, including Senate Bill Nos. 3297 and 3298 which I authored. I look forward to the debates and urge the public, including netizens and bloggers, to monitor and participate in the public hearings.
