Cayetano to "Hangout" with OFWs via Google

The first ever Google Hangout for a senatorial candidate will be conducted on April 12, Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Mind Museum in Taguig featuring Senator Alan Cayetano and hosted by tech-savvy celebrity Bianca Gonzalez.

Google Hangout is a new application by Google wherein ten participants from anywhere in the world conduct a virtual hangout online. For the first ever Google Hangout for elections 2013, Senator Cayetano will hang out with overseas Filipino workers. Google will establish a live connection with 4 - 5 OFWs.

This is in time for the voting period for OFWs, which begins on April 13.

Cayetano will discuss issues pertaining to inflation, employment, and wages that affect the lives of Filipino workers as they work abroad. He will also accept questions via Twitter and Facebook. The senator has been conducting a Listening Tour in a bid to learn about the true needs and concerns of various Philippine sectors. He has recently taken his discussion to the Filipino domestic helpers in Hong Kong.

"I am excited to participate in the first ever Google Hangout because I really want to reach every Filipino family and tell them about my platform. The best thing about it is it's free and we can reach people from all over the world," Senator Alan said.

On her part, Bianca Gonzales said, "I am very excited to host the first ever Google hangout for a senatorial candidate. It's a great way to reach out to our kababayans around the world and to help voters be informed about candidates in the upcoming elections."
