Senator Alan Cayetano thanked the Filipino people today for their continued support as the Commission on Elections (Comelec) continued canvassing of votes. As of the latest partial and unofficial count issued by the Comelec, Cayetano ranked third in the senatorial race garnering 12,669,551 votes.

Cayetano said he is humbled by the results. "It is so humbling to have earned the support of so many Filipino voters. To be re-elected is such a blessing. To be re-elected with much more votes than in 2007 is humbling and inspiring," the senator said.

The senator credited the President for the success of Team PNoy. "I thank God and our people for Team PNoy's great victory," the senator said in a statement. "Team PNoy has performed well in this election both because of the Administration's performance and also because he really worked very hard for the team's success."

The senator plans to work on his PTK programs as soon as Congress opens. "I can't wait to get to work with PTK Programs and go back to the groups and places I visited," he said.

During the course of the 90-day campaign, Cayetano embarked on a Listening Tour that enabled him to visit over 40 places all over the country and talk to various sectors of the Philippine society regarding their concerns related to PTK - high prices, lack of jobs, and low wages.

The senator also congratulated his fellow candidates, saying, "I want to extend my congratulations to my fellow senators and candidates, with whom I look forward to working with over the next term."
