LEGARDA THANKS VOTERS FOR FRESH MANDATE
'I CONGRATULATE GRACE POE FOR LEADING SENATE RACE'

With the elections coming to a close, Senator Loren Legarda thanked the Filipino people for their trust and for the renewed mandate given her.

"My heartfelt gratitude goes to the Filipino electorate who have actively participated in this democratic exercise. With their outpouring of support, all I can say is that I am sincerely inspired to push ahead with the legislative programs I have presented to them, for their welfare," Legarda said.

In the partial and unofficial tally, the Senator is ranked second in the race led by her fellow Team PNoy senatorial candidate Grace Poe.

"I wish to congratulate Grace Poe for leading the senatorial count. Her impending victory as the most chosen senator is a vindication for her late father Fernando Poe, Jr. and for myself, who were one team in 2004. Nine years later, we are surely elated with Grace's success," Legarda noted. "She is also a highly competent professional and I am certain she will do well in the Senate," she added.

"I also wish to congratulate Chiz, my inaanak and who served as spokesperson for FPJ in 2004, whom I look forward to working with again for our second term," she said.

"With this renewed mandate, I will continue to give due importance to my advocacies, which are really all for the benefit of the people. I will work with excellence and with passion, the brand of service for which I am proud," Legarda concluded.
