Sen. Grace Poe announced that the Senate committee on public information and mass media which she chairs is set to hold a second and final public hearing on the Freedom of Information bill on Sept. 18.

"We call on all concerned groups and heads to participate and make known their positions on the measure during this last hearing," Poe said.

"The committee welcomes the submission of all positions, observations and recommendations on the FOI. We shall exhaustively examine all issues and come up with a committee report by October," the lady senator said.

Poe also said one technical working group meeting will be held during the Senate break to reconcile the different versions of the bill. There are at least 10 pending legislations on the FOI at the Senate.

Poe said she is confident that the FOI measure will be passed by the Senate before the year ends.
