Statement of Senator Nancy Binay on the observance
of the holy month of Ramadan

I want to personally send my sincere greetings to our Muslim brothers and everyone observing the holy month of Ramadan.

This is a time for true community as we extend goodness to those who have less in life--a time for reflection, contemplation and charity.

In fasting and in prayer, may we think deeply about others and be guided by faith.

This is also a time to reflect on the Holy Koran's message of peace and brotherhood, regardless of one's creed, color, and gender. May we show our love and respect to everyone and be reminded that we are all equal in the eyes of the Almighty.

Let this time of Ramadan help us see the pure light of hope for our people.
