SEN. ANGARA'S STATEMENT ON PH FIBA OLYMPIC QUALIFIERS HOSTING

We thank the FIBA for granting the Philippines one of the hosting rights for the World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, where the Gilas Pilipinas will make one final push to be part of the 2016 Rio Olympics. We congratulate the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and its president Manny V. Pangilinan for leading the way to make this happen.

I call on all avid Filipino basketball fans to join us in giving our all-out support for our national team as they try to beat the odds to earn the country's much coveted appearance at the most prestigious Olympic basketball tournament. I have no doubt that our team will once again showcase our unique brand of puso-fuelled basketball to bring pride and honor to the country. Congratulations at mabuhay ang Gilas Pilipinas!
