POE WELCOMES NPC ENDORSEMENT

TUGUEGARAO CITY--Leading presidential aspirant Sen. Grace Poe acknowledged the endorsement of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), saying it is an honor and a challenge to be backed by the country's second biggest political party.

Poe and her running mate, Sen. Francis Escudero, were campaigning in Cagayan when the NPC officially proclaimed its support for the tandem, which leads the presidential and vice-presidential preference surveys.

"Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa tiwala at suportang ibinigay ng NPC. Bilang tumatakbong independent, naniniwala akong malaki ang maitutulong ng NPC hindi lamang sa pagsulong sa aking kandidatura, kundi higit sa lahat, sa pagtataguyod ng Gobyernong may Pusong minimithi ng bawat Pilipinong napag-iwanan," Poe said. The NPC is fielding 4,129 candidates nationwide in this year's elections, Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga, the party's spokesperson, said.
