SEN. JV EJERCITO SEEKS TO CLEAR NAME FROM GRAFT CASE

Senator JV Ejercito is seeking to clear his name from the graft case filed against his alleged misuse of San Juan City's calamity funds in 2008.

Ejercito made this statement today after he and his five co-accused attended the case's arraignment at the Sandiganbayan's Fifth Division, where he pleaded not guilty.

He also stressed a clean track record in his 15 years in public service. "I have never had a court case and had been very careful to keep my track record as a public servant clean, and my reputation unblemished," he said.

Ejercito said he and his legal counsel, Atty. Sig Fortun, both agreed not delay the case any further.

"We are confident that the evidence and witnesses we have will show what truly transpired. I want to get this case over and done with as soon as possible. I am seeking justice to clear my name," he said.
