Koko to launch information drive amidst federalism talks

Senate President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III plans to launch an intensified information drive for the public to have better access to facts regarding the Constitution and the proposed federal government.

This is in response to the result of a recent Pulse Asia Survey that around three-fourths or 73% percent of Filipinos have little or no knowledge of the Constitution.

"I am more concerned by the result that 73% of respondents have 'none or almost no knowledge at all' of the Constitution. PDP-Laban believes in consultative democracy, and every Filipino must have their say armed with the proper information on which to base their decision," Koko said in a statement.

"My party will intensify its information campaign on federalism and the Constitution to allow our people to make an informed choice on the matter of constitutional change," he added.

President Duterte and PDP-Laban have made federalism a cornerstone of their program of governance, and constitutional change is necessary for its implementation.
