ON PNP'S LACK OF AIR ASSETS AND LACK OF FIRE EQUIPMENT IN 316 MUNICIPALITIES

ON PNP'S LACK OF AIR ASSETS

I lament the fact that the Philippine National Police has no eye in the sky, especially amid the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs. This is very vital to their operations. I will really push for it in their 2017 budget. If we can acquire one or two helicopters for the PNP, that would be very helpful in the war against illegal drugs and in the fight against criminality.

ON THE LACK OF FIRETRUCK EQUIPMENT IN 316 MUNICIPALITIES

It is unfortunate that hundreds of municipalities remain helpless in fire prevention and protection, given that 488-Million pesos remains unused in the Bureau of Fire Protection's 2016 budget. Instead of giving to politicians and big cities, I asked the BFP to prioritize the purchase of fire trucks and safety equipment to the 316 fourth and fifth class municipalities nationwide that has zero firefighting capability.
