SEN. PACQUIAO CHALLENGES NBI TO SERVE WITH EXCELLENCE

MANILA - Senator Manny Pacquiao has challenged the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to serve the country and the people with utmost dedication and excellence.

Sen. Pacquiao was the guest of honor during the NBI 81st Anniversary Painting Exhibition on Tuesday held at the agency's head office along Taft Avenue, Manila.

"We don't go to work just for the paycheck. We go to work to serve. And when we serve with excellence, we make a difference," Sen. Pacquiao said in his speech.

Sen. Pacquiao hailed the men and women in NBI who worked hard to address high profile crimes that took place in different parts of the country.

"Ang inyong galing at lakas ay kinakailangan upang lalong tumibay ang pundasyon ng ating bayan," Sen. Pacquiao said.

Sen. Pacquiao added "Excellent service is our platform to glorify God. When we serve with excellence, we become channels of God's love and light to this world."

Sen. Pacquiao also commended the artists who joined in the NBI painting exhibition.

Proceeds of the exhibit will go to the rehabilitation of Marawi City.

The senator from Mindanao assured the NBI leadership of his all-out support particularly in the implementation of the agency's anti-crime campaign, programs and projects.

The boxer-lawmaker had even donated a house and lot to the NBI office in General Santos-Sarangani field office to prove his commitment in supporting the country's premier probe body.

He also helped out in securing a P15 million budget from the national government for the construction of NBI building in a lot he donated in Gensan.
