OFW sibling bags house and lot from Camella during the 7th OFW summit

A sibling of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) won "house and lot" from Camella Homes during the 7th OFW summit led by the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (Villar SIPAG) at the World Trade Center.

An elated Zysa Bisquera said she can't believe she was the grand winner when her name was called. She stressed this was very timely since they do not own a house and lot. They belong to the so-called informal settlers.

Bisquera disclosed that her family was praying to bring home the "sari-sari store livelihood packages" to help them start a small business.

Aside from Bisquera, another major winner in the OFW summit is Paul Gamboa who bagged a K-Servico motorcycle.

The other lucky winners are Rafael Chato Jr. of Taguig City; Joe-An Janayan of Tondo, Manila; Manilyn Santos of Pulilan, Bulacan; Ramona Perez of Calatagan, Batangas; Francis Acutina of Valenzuela City; Elvira Thelmo of Caloocan City; Melanie Dizon of Tarlac City; Ma. Natividad Valdez of Pasig City; Charito Rosinas of Butuan City and Ramona Salvatierra of Marikina City. Each of them got a sari-sari store livelihood package from All Day.

The OFW summit is an annual project of the Villar SIPAG led by its director, Sen. Cynthia Villar who has been at the forefront of helping our OFWs and their families.

Villar, also chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, said she and her family will not get tired of helping our OFWs and their families especially it was once an OFW who first trusted them while they were starting their business.

"Hangad namin na isang araw ay wala na tayong kababayang mangingibang-bansa at iiwanan ang kani-kanilang pamilya para maghanap-buhay. Kaya marapat lamang na bigyan natin sila ng panibagong kabuhayan at kaalaman upang ang ating pangarap ay maging makatotohanan," stressed Villar.

The theme of the 7th OFW Summit was "Kabuhayan sa Agrikultura para sa Pamilyang OFW."
