Statement of Senator Nancy Binay on the passing of former Parañaque Representative Roilo Golez

It is with sadness that we mourn the passing of former six-term Parañaque Representative Roilo Golez, who also served in various capacities in our government.

Rep. Golez was a voice of reason and conscience, a patriot who was vocal in various national security issues and concerns. His analyses of issues and words of advice will be missed.

We thank him for his long and selfless service to the nation, starting as a Philippine Navy officer and continuing as postmaster general, governor of the Philippine Red Cross, and national security adviser, among others.

Non sibi sed patriae (not for self, but country).

We extend our deepest sympathies to his loved ones, and we join them in this time of sorrow.
