Dispatch from Crame No. 562:
Sen. Leila M. de Lima's remarks on the bravery of Filipino nurse Joy Ongcachuy

7/19/19

My sincerest admiration and congratulations to our kababayan, Ms. Joy Ongcachuy, who was conferred the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) last April 14.

Joy, a native of Talisayan, Misamis Oriental, who works as Lead Robotic Nurse at the Royal London Hospital, was recognized with this prestigious British royal citation for her bravery as one of the first responders during the London Bridge terror attack two years ago.

Her heroism makes us proud compatriots to Filipino nurses known over the world for their professionalism, competence and compassion in healthcare service.
