'Serbisyo, serbisyo, serbisyo' stresses Bong Go as he demands to be "counted out" in any election talks

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go emphasized that he, together with the rest of the Duterte Administration, remains focused on public service to ensure that no Filipino is being left behind towards the recovery from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Please count me out sa usaping pulitika," he reiterated.

Go further urged every Filipino to cooperate with government and join the bayanihan efforts to overcome the crisis as one nation, instead of engaging in partisan talks and political bickering.

"Focus muna tayo, serbisyo muna tayo.

Go also urged political leaders and supporters from all sides to prioritize the welfare of the Filipino people rather than their own interests.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview where he was asked if he would consider running for the presidency in 2022 if President Rodrigo Duterte decides to run for the vice presidency, Go said that the idea is not yet on his mind.

Lagi ko pong sinasabi na I am not interested to run for higher office. Alam ng Pangulo iyan na hindi ako interesado," Go said.

Go also explained that his previous pronouncement about him running for the presidency if Duterte decides to run for the vice presidency was a response to the President's "joke".

"Siya kasi, lagi akong binibiro... So, binalik ko lang sa kanya... Kaya sabi ko, Mayor, President, tatakbo ako basta ikaw VP ko. Nasa kanya na po ang decision if he will take it seriously or as a joke," he said.

Go shared that he is determined to fulfill his mandate as a public servant, adding that he has been going around the country to help Filipinos in crisis situations even before he became a senator.

While he welcomes the trust and support being given to the current administration, especially those who are calling for 'continuity', Go assured that the government is just fulfilling its mandate and delivering its commitment to providing a more comfortable life for all.

Meanwhile, Go said that President Duterte, as Chair of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), can intervene if the members need guidance to resolve any issue concerning the party.

"PRRD is the chairman. He is the father of the party.

When asked if President Duterte has already spoken with PDP Acting President Senator Manny Pacquiao and PDP Vice Chair Energy Secretary Al Cusi, Go shared that Duterte has not spoken with Pacquiao recently but regularly engages with Cusi being a cabinet member who directly reports to him.

Go reiterated that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and preference, but he would rather discuss and focus on plans to overcome the pandemic and other crisis situations instead.

"This is a democracy po. Kung anong gusto nila. Lahat naman po ay may karapatang tumakbo. Ang tanong na lang po, sa publiko, do you want continuity or change? Pero sa ngayon, please count me out. 'Wag niyo ko isali... consider me last dahil hindi talaga ako interesado dyan," he said.
