I also fully support the resolution of Senator Pangilinan and Sen. Migz Zubiri. I take note of what Senator Drilon mentioned that there are about 12 million more-- if I'm not mistaken--young, first-time voters who have yet to register, and this is really quite alarming, disenfranchising for those who want to take an active part in our democratic system. I also note what was mentioned that, hopefully, it's not just a bureaucratic lapse or reason. Hopefully, there's nothing more sinister than for them not agreeing to extend for another month the registration process. I think this will really reassure us, the public, that Comelec is really serious about upholding democracy in this coming election--beginning with extending the deadline for registration to accommodate our eager first-time voters.
