MIGS AT THE UNEP GLOBAL FORUM: Senator Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, welcomes this year's participants of the Global Forum on Artisanal Small Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The three-day event is conducted in English, French and Spanish. In his speech, Zubiri underscored that ASGM presents challenges as well as development opportunities for many countries around the world including the Philippines.
