Villar at the National Tuna Congress: Sen. Cynthia A. Villar, chair of the Senate agriculture and food committee, commends the Federation of Fishing and Allied Industries, Inc. for the holding of the National Tuna Congress sa General Santos City which tackled relevant issues and concerns like food fish sufficiency and sustainable fisheries management. The senator commits to continue helping the tuna industry as well as the agriculture sector in their woes and problems. Villar says she had pushed for laws like Republic Act 10845 or the act declaring large-scale agricultural smuggling as economic sabotage and Republic Act 10654 or the act to prevent, deter, and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing to address these concerns.
