'Always grateful' to FVR: Sen. Win Gatchalian pays tribute to former President Fidel V. Ramos during the Senate plenary session Monday, August 1, 2022. Gatchalian, one of the authors of a proposed resolution expressing the upper chamber's sympathy on Ramos' passing, cited the latter's "courage, honor and patriotism" in his "long and illustrious" career in public service. He also enumerated Ramos' efforts in raising the Philippines' socioeconomic status during his administration. Gatchalian specifically thanked Ramos for signing in 1998 the law classifying Valenzuela City as a highly-urbanized city.
