Senate tackles proposed P718.36-B DPWH budget for FY 2023: Sen. Sonny Angara, chairperson of the Committee on Finance, leads the hybrid hearing on the proposed P718.36 billion budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for FY 2023, Thursday, October 13, 2022. During the Subcommittee A hearing, Angara asked the DPWH to submit a report on the supposed additional P10-billion budget which was published on the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) website. Angara’s question was an offshoot of Sen. Francis “Tol” Tolentino’s query on the supposed errata issued by the DBM, reflecting that the total budget of the DPWH would be P728 billion. The senators wondered why the DPWH only presented P718.36 billion to the committee, not the P728 billion as posted on the DBM website. “I hope before the plenary, you’ll be able to provide us with the explanation or report on the supposed additional P10-billion budget,” Angara said.
