Poe underscores budget hike: Sen. Grace L. Poe underscores the important changes in the proposed 2025 national budget that the bicameral conference committee managed to iron out during the meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 held at the Manila Hotel. “I am pleased to share that we not only maintained but also increased the funding for several important agencies compared to last year. This increase reflects our unwavering commitment to prioritize the needs of the Filipino people and strengthen the very institutions that served as the backbone of our nation’s progress,” Poe explained. “We have championed the budget that puts Filipino first with significant increases for social protection, livelihood programs, health, education and disaster response. This means stronger safety nets for our most vulnerable, better health care for every family and greater investments in the future of our children through improved schools and opportunities,” she added. Poe expressed her gratitude to fellow lawmakers, from the House of Representatives and the Senate, and to the technical working group who did the hard work behind the scenes.
