Ensuring continuity, stability in Barangay, SK leadership: Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go says he is very happy with the progress of Senate Bill No. 2816 otherwise known as the Term of Office of Barangay Officials and Members of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Act, which was approved on final reading during plenary session Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The bill seeks to set the term of office for barangay officials and members of the Sangguniang Kabataan for four years. Go said the passage of the bill would promote stability and continuity in the barangay and SK leadership. “The bill will ensure the opportunity to empower young leaders and encourage civic engagement. By extending their term, we will allow them to maximize their contributions to youth development and nation building,” Go, chairperson of the Committee on Youth, said.
