Philhealth info drive: Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go says he is looking forward to working closely with newly appointed Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) Chief, Dr. Edwin Mercado, who faces big challenges such as heading an institution with zero budget. Hopefully, Go said, Mercado’s background in the medical field would lead to better management of the PhilHealth. “You have my support, sir. Just give priority to indigent patients and to those who depend on PhilHealth for medical care,” Go said during the public hearing Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The senator said he would continue to monitor PhilHealth if it is really meeting the medical needs of the Filipinos and urged Mercado to conduct an information drive to inform people of their PhilHealth membership.
