A. Cayetano amends Dela Rosa motion: Senator-judge Alan Peter Cayetano moves to amend the motion earlier raised by Senator-judge Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa. During debates on the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, Cayetano said Dela Rosa’s motion to dismiss the Articles of Impeachment against Duterte should be revised. The senator said that instead of dismissal, the Articles of Impeachment should be remanded to the House of Representatives, which was opposed by Senator-judge Risa Hontiveros, explaining that such move is tantamount to dismissal of the complaint. Presiding Judge Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero, however, said returning to the House of Representatives does not mean that the impeachment court is dismissing the complaint. Finally, Dela Rosa’s motion was amended to read as follows: “That the Articles of Impeachment be returned to the House of Representatives, without dismissing or terminating the case...” (Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau)
