VILLAR KICKS OFF FIRST DAY OF
CAMPAIGN PERIOD WITH VICE MAYORS

Senate President Manny Villar, President of the Nacionalista Party, kicks off the campaign period today (February 13) by hobnobbing with vice mayors during their general assembly at the Century Park Hotel where the reelectionist Villar is guest speaker.

Running as independent candidate for his reelection bid, Villar emphasizes that his campaign will be based on principles and advocacies. The whole question is not so much which party or political grouping has a better public approval rating but rather who has done more for local communities or the whole nation among those seeking reelection, he cites on his speech.

Villar further cites, For the rest of the candidates, who among the best personify public aspirations and have the drive, vision and energy to make them come true?

According to Villar, at the end of the campaign period, candidates have to answer the question of how the country is faring vis--vis is neighboring countries.

A strong advocate of entrepreneurship and popularly known as Mr. Sipag at Tiyaga (hard work and persistence), Villar says, We need a radical shift in the mindset and an expansion of horizon. It calls for the active and sustainable promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit that is innovative, daring, flexible, preserving and success-bound.

There are entrepreneurs in the Philippines , but their number is too small to make a substantial difference in the shape of the economy. We need more. We need a critical mass of entrepreneurs to make much awaited entrepreneurial revolution possible and irreversible, also says Villar.
