LACSON SPENDS VALENTINES DAY
WITH WIFE ON CAMPAIGN TRAIL

The second day of the senatorial campaign was a special one for Sen. Panfilo Lacson, who spent Valentines Day with his wife Alice on the campaign trail.

Lacson also greeted President Arroyo and first gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo a Happy Valentines Day, even as he appealed to all other candidates, including those from the administration, to have a Valentines moratorium.

Today is a day of hearts. At least for one day, lets not focus on personalities but lets base our campaigns instead on the issues and platforms of government. So I wish a Happy Valentines Day to Atty. and Mrs. Jose Miguel Arroyo, he said.

Lacson said he and Mrs. Lacson woke up early to just to spend Valentines Day on the campaign trail, just for today because its a special day, Valentines Day.

We woke up very early today, just for today (but) Valentines Day or no Valentines Day, tuloy ang kampanya ng opposition (Whether or not its Valentines Day, our campaign will continue), he said, adding he even wore a red checkered polo shirt for the occasion.

On the other hand, Lacson said the United Opposition does not mind the stance of the two self-proclaimed independent senatoriables adopted by the Grand and Broad Coalition to campaign on their own.

He said the UNO will still campaign for the two just to show good faith and goodwill that they will deserve for not joining the administration ticket.

The important thing, he said, is for all senatorial bets who will win on May 14 to maintain their independence at the 14th Congress.

He also said he has been encouraged so far with the campaign, describing peoples response during Tuesdays campaign in Manila as warm and responsive.

While waiting for the other opposition senatorial bets to arrive, Lacson shook hands with passersby and passengers of passing jeeps at the Monumento area in Caloocan City.

He also signed pocket calendars and pieces of paper that supporters asked him to sign.

The opposition senatorial convoy spent the day campaigning in Valenzuela City and in towns in Bulacan province.
