On the first Filipino all-women team to attempt
to reach the summit of Mount Everest
VILLAR: THE FILIPINAS CAN!

Senate President Manny Villar, President of the Nacionalista Party, expresses support and good wishes to the first all-Filipina team that will attempt to reach the worlds highest peak in May.

Together with all their kababayan, I wish the first Filipino all-women team to attempt to reach the Mount Everest all the very best. I have full confidence in the capability of Filipinas like Noelle Wenceslao, Karina Dayondon and Janet Belarmino to succeed in whatever endeavor they set their minds and hearts on, says Villar.

Villar adds, Like Leo Oracion, Pastor Emata and Romie Garduce before them, I am optimistic that the three determined Filipinas and their teams will again bring pride and honor to the country. I urge all the Filipinos to rally behind these Pinays in their endeavor to reach the worlds highest peak.

Last year, Villar filed a Senate Resolution acknowledging the record feat of Oracion, Emata and Garduce who even paid a courtesy call in the Senate.

According to Villar, the Filipina Everest Team deserves the same support as the other Filipino athletes who represented the country in international competitions and endeavors.

The three Filipinas attempt to reach the summit will start this month as they fly off to Nepal and it has a special significance since March is Womens Month. Truly women have proven their worth in all aspects of life and in every sector of the society. Kayang-kaya talaga ng Pinay! Hindi matatawaran ang kakayahan ng mga Pilipina at saludo ako sa kanila! cites Villar. Their success as not only as the first Filipinas to reach the worlds highest mountain, but also the first Southeast Asian women to do so will yet be another sweet success for all Filipinos. Of course, most importantly, we should pray for their safety and good health during the entire ordeal or adventure. God bless all of you, further cites Villar.
