VILLAR MOST TRUSTED PUBLIC OFFICIAL

Senate President Manny Villar was rated anew as the most trusted public official in the country.

Based on the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted from April 3 to 5, the Senate President received a 55% trust rating, the highest received among the top five leaders of government.

Following Villars lead is Vice-President Noli De Castro who garnered a 44% trust rating. On the third rank is President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo with a 25% trust rating, trailed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno who received a trust rating of 19%.

Villar said the results of the survey validated the fact that he is performing his duties and responsibilities as Senate President according to the publics expectation.

The reelectionist senator also topped the earlier Pulse Asia trust rating survey conducted from Feb. 28 to March 5.

The Senate President believed that the trust rating he received can also be attributed to the sterling performance by the Senate in passing at least 164 legislative measures since July 2006 which he stirred.

At the same time, Villar acknowledged the hard work and dedication exemplified by his colleagues in the Senate which made possible such achievement, pursuing the institutions aim of uplifting the lives of the Filipino citizenry.
