LEAVE NOYNOY ALONE, KIKO TELLS ARROYO GOV'T

Senate Majority Leader and independent re-electionist Kiko Pangilinan assailed alleged efforts by operators close to the Palace to work on ensuring Noynoy's defeat in the Senate elections.

"If we are to ensure the survival of our constitutional democracy, this coming election must be credible and peaceful and efforts to undermine the process must be exposed and opposed," Kiko said.

"Our fragile democracy may be mortally wounded if the operators of the administration succeed in cheating Noynoy and other opposition candidates of victory," Kiko added.

"We urge the more sober advisers of the president to ensure that we hold credible and fraud-free elections. In its efforts to survive and maintain its hold on power, the administration must do well not to be overzealous as the opposite effect may take place and government loses whatever remains of its credibility. I don't think our nation can survive another highly controversial and questionable election process," Kiko ended.
