ALL SAINTS DAY CALL TO PUBLIC
Villar: Adhere to strict security measures

Senate President Manny Villar urged the police authorities to strictly implement security measures in view of the nationwide celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day on Nov. 1 and 2.

"Remembering our beloved departed ones is a tradition close to the heart of our countrymen and honored through the years," Villar said. "It is likewise an opportune time for the strengthening of family ties, prayer, and enrichment of the Filipino culture."

"We should enable our people to celebrate this sacred occasion with the guarantee of a strict implementation of security measures across the country," the Senate President said.

Villar also appealed to concerned private companies to extend their voluntary assistance to motorists in the interest of road safety and smooth traffic flow.

"Notwithstanding a forecast of heavy traffic, our countrymen will not pass up the opportunity to visit the resting places of their loved ones," Villar said, "Lending our assistance to our motorists at this time would be a truly laudable act of public service," he said.

The Senate President and his family are joining the millions of Filipinos nationwide in marking the occasion.

"I join the Filipino people in reliving the memories of our beloved departed and valuing their contributions in our lives in this occasion," the Senate President said.

"May this time enrich us as a nation, solidify our families, and deepen us in prayer as we continue to strive for meaningful goals for our society and country," he said.
