Transcript of interview with Senator Jinggoy
Ejercito Estrada on the Sentosa Hearing

On Sentosa 27...

Nakakapagpadala pa (ng nurses abroad) ung Sentosa (recruitment agency) after the suspension?

SEN. JINGGOY: Nakakpagpadala pa rin sila.

Ilan pa ung nag-file ng kaso sa kanila after ma-lift ung suspension order?

SEN. JINGGOY: Based on our record, based on the record of the committee, there are 26 nurses who filed a case against Sentosa and a physical therapist.

Migrante: Ayon sa latest communication natin sa New York mga 36 na po.

SEN. JINGGOY: Nakakapag-work sila sa mga maliliit na hospitals, na itinuturing natin na health care centers, doon sa America sa New York .

Anong papel ni Mike Defensor?

SEN. JINGGOY: He was mentioned ni Sen. Pimentel sa kanyang privilege speech during the last Congress as the one who intervened in this case, in the lifting of the suspension of Sentosa, including Senator Charles Schumer of USA, who even wrote Admin. Baldoz and Mrs. Arroyo. Secretary pa siya nun?

Inimbitahan siya pero hindi diya nakarating. Kanina niya lang daw natanggap ung invitation. By next year siguro. He gave naman the assurance that he's going to attend.

Itong si (Francis) Luyon, ipapa-subpoena ko na yan. Siya ung importante. Lisensyado ung Sentosa dito. I think he is the sole proprietor of the Sentosa recruitment agency.

All of the sanctions against Sentosa na-lift na?

SEN. JINGGOY: Yes, they are lifted two weeks after the suspension.

Action of the committee...

SEN. JINGGOY: We cannot get into the bottom of this until we hear the side of POEA, Sentosa, DFA and DOLE. On the part of DFA, anong ginawang tulong o assistance to our nurses. On the part of DOLE, gusto ko malaman ung status ng kaso kasi naka-pending sa kanila. And ung owner ng Sentosa, kung ano talaga ung mechanics. Kung bakit, ok dito ung kontrata ng nurses, pagdating doon iba na ung pinupuntahang trabaho as agreed upon sa contract.

On Ranario case...

SEN. JINGGOY: Today, malalaman ung desisiyon. We can only do so much. According to the father, whom I talked with the other week, medyo kulang yung tulong at suporta ng gobyerno. But I heard the pronouncement of Vice President de Castro, who mentioned before na most likely hindi mabibitay si Ranario, the worst she can get is a life sentence. Nag-refuse na ung pamilya ng blood money.

SEN. JINGGOY: Ang masakit dito, puri tayo ng puri sa ating mga OFWs, pero wala naman tayong ginagawa para sa kanila. They don't get anything in return.

Labanan ng elepante sa 2010, if tatakbo ung father niyo?

SEN. JINGGOY: Wala kaming bilyon.
