"I'm an elected senator of the Republic and my oath of office says that we will defend the Constitution. Kung anuman ang nais nating pagbabago at nais nating makita, we will have to do it in the context of the Constitution, otherwise, we will only weaken it. We hope and pray that it will be resolved peacefully and within the rule of law. I might agree with some of their grievances, but I do not agree with the method they employed."

"We appeal for calm and sobriety, we pray for the peaceful resolution of this standoff. While we have valid issues against this government, we must raise them within the context of the rule of law and the Constitution."
