Press statement of Senator M. A. Madrigal

The brazen act of the executive and its minions in abducting the Senate witness-should be condemned by all freedom loving Filipinos who want the truth. The NAIA Assistant General Manager- Retired General Atutubo is guilty of obstruction and I urge my colleagues to cite him for contempt of the Senate. Again, the executive has interfered with and made a mockery of the Senate's right to have its witness in custody.

What is more bothersome is that, there is clearly a leak coming from the Blue Ribbon Committee which put the witness in jeopardy. This is not the first time leaks of this nature have happened with respect to the ZTE investigation. Who is leaking the information? Whoever he is, he is definitely a lackery of Malacañang. The inability of the Blue Ribbon Chair to enforce a valid order of the Senate has compromised the witness and the integrity of the Senate. Itigil na natin ang moro-moro, taong bayan lang ang niloloko.
