KIKO PANGILINAN: LOZADA ARREST CLEARLY A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE

Independent Senator Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan today expressed dismay and disappointment over the arrest of NBN-ZTE star witness Jun Lozada.

"This is clearly a mockery of our justice system. Where is the virtue of exposing the ills of the country? What message is this arrest sending out to those who remain vigilant against corruption and dishonesty in the government?" Pangilinan asked.

Lozada is set to go to jail on charges of perjury filed against him by President Gloria- Macapagal-Arroyo's former chief of staff Michael Arroyo.

"This is clearly political harassment. It is obvious Lozada is being pressured because he blew the whistle. Secondly, it's questionable that Defensor is the one being served so-called justice when there are bigger fish to fry," Pangilinan adds.

Pangilinan is also wary of threats made to Lozada's life. "We urge the public to be vigilant of this case. We at the senate will do our best to protect Lozada."
