Villar is most trusted public official with +62 net trust rating

The April 16-May 6, 2009 nationwide survey of Social Weather Stations found that Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. is the most trusted public official in the country, with 73% saying they have Much Trust in him and 11% having Little Trust, giving him a very high net trust rating of +62.

The SWS survey, which polled 7,000 Filipinos nationwide, shows that Villar continues to enjoy the trust and confidence of the public despite the accusations of some of his peers on his alleged involvement in the C-5 double insertion controversy.

Other public officials who were included in the survey and got positive trust ratings are: Sen. Mar Roxas, +55 (Much Trust 67% vs. Little Trust 12%) Sen. Francis Escudero +51 (Much trust 64% vs. Little trust 14%), Sen. Loren Legarda +49 (Much trust 64% vs. Little trust 15%), Vice -President Noli De Castro +28 (Much trust 53% vs. Little trust 25%), Sen. Panfilo Lacson +20 (Much trust 46% vs. Little trust 26%), Former President Joseph Estrada +11 (Much trust 44% vs. Little trust 33%).

Meanwhile, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile (-15) and House Speaker Prospero Nograles (-35) both received negative net trust ratings. One of the lowest ever received by a Senate President and Speaker of the House.

The April 16-May 6 survey had a sample size of 7,000 registered voters, for an error margin of ±1.2%.
