'May Bukas kay Villar' launched

A group consisting of diversified members from the business sector to the youth in support of Nacionalista Party (NP) president Manny Villar has formally launched its advocacy dubbed "May Bukas kay Villar (MBV)" in a well-attended dinner at the Hong Kong Sun Plaza along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City.

"To manifest our full support to Senator Villar's leadership, we are undertaking an aggressive membership drive backed by community service and livelihood projects," its president Celine Bautista said.

"The Nacionalista Party president's tested management expertise in both corporate and government service sets him apart from others. He has a solid track record showing his ability to exercise independence."

During the event graced by the senator and his wife Rep. Cynthia Villar, the group presented three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) earlier assisted by Villar as a concrete proof of the NP president's timely action which saved their lives. The OFWs were Jennifer Calinao-Ligay, Gloria "Neneng" de los Santos, and Janette Nudalo, who found local employment through the help of the group.

"The many ordinary citizens to whom Senator Villar has reached out and given hope propel us to do our own share in nation building and pushing our advocacy," Bautista said.

'MBV' officers aside from Bautista are Tito Catindig (vice-president), Mario Magat (secretary general), Babee Pastor (secretary), Nini Layug (treasurer), Bebot Laurel (assistant treasurer), Beth Encarnacion and Mike Magpayo (PROs), Josee Salvador (auditor), Naty Golez, Naty Pappas, Tet Aguila, Pilie Barrenechea, Claire Buencamino, Tom Cabili Jr., Velia Cruz, Art Estuita, JJ Fernandez, Baby Garcia, Ric Gonzales, Cathy King, Mike Macatangay, Pros Madamba, Bai Mindalano, Charrie Pacheco, Anna Periquet, Mike Roberto, Joey Sobrepena, Jo Solomon, Alex Tanwangco, Teddy Villanueva, and Robert Yupangco (directors).

Among its projects are business development, gift of sight (corneal transplant), scholarship, fabric softener making, cosmetology, reflexology, jewelry making, flower arrangement, detergent powder making, gift wrapping, and job placement.
